About Me
I love spending time with my nieces and nephews and try to do it every chance I get. It hurts my soul when they don't know me. I love to travel and basically take every opportunity to do so. I like working out, hanging out with friends to watch movies. I'm into foreign films and watch Indian movies with my sis. I also love watching Korean dramas. I like to be involved in church as much as my schedule allows. So far my plan is to do primary care MedPeds but I'm open to where life takes me.
Why I Chose Peoria
I chose Peoria and this program because I have first hand experience on how great the program and the faculty are. There is a wide range of pathology to be seen here and that is something that I did not always see with other programs. The residents are also great and seem to form genuine friendships and love working with one another. There is a family feel to the program here and I am big on family so that really attracted me. That and it is also about two hours away from my actual family which is a definite plus.

About Me
I'm from Lafayette, Indiana and did all four years of medical school in Terre Haute, Indiana. I spent three summers in Alaska with my wife and child. My main hobby is bicycling. I ride my bike year round and pick up trash and other recycling as part of my commute. I enjoy spending time with my child and trying to conquer the never ending but always enjoyable honey-do list.
Why I Chose Peoria
I chose Peoria mainly because of the faculty and residents and because they are on Central Time. My wife and I also enjoyed the size of the town, what it has to offer for out children and the cost of living. I also like that the MedPeds program makes up a large portion of both the medicine and pediatrics programs.

About Me
I am from Norton, Virginia--a very small town in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. This is where I went to college and met my wonderful wife. We have a beautiful one year old daughter, who we love and adore. Outside of medicine, I am an avid golfer and family man. As of now, I really enjoy Cardiology and primary care but my main focus is surviving intern year!
Why I Chose Peoria
I chose Peoria mostly due to the residents and faculty that I met. Everyone I met was very friendly, easy to get along with and excited about MedPeds. Peoria also has a HUGE MedPeds presence which I found very interesting.

About Me
I was born and raised in southeast Wisconsin. I love, love, love the Badgers and the Packers. I enjoy eating, watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette and being outside. My favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip. I just got engaged and my fiancé moved to Peoria with me. He sells bacon :) I'm interested in being a MedPeds hospitalist!
Why I Chose Peoria

I chose to come here because I wanted to stay in the Midwest and be closer to home. On my interview day, everyone I met was super nice and welcoming. Overall good vibes and a friendly bunch.

About Me
I have an interest in academic medicine especially medical education. My interests include tennis, cooking, trivia, video games, and a variety of TV shows.
Why I Chose Peoria
I like that the program had a very strong MedPeds presence, but, most importantly, I clicked with the faculty and the residents during my interview.

About Me
-Total sports junkie: ask me about any sport and I'll have an opinion (except hockey)
-Exploring the Great Outdoors (hiking, biking, kayaking)
-less exciting hobbies include reading sci fi/fantasy, watching TV, and pretending to be a gamer
-I think I want to be a cardiologist. I find congenital and structural defects, particularly in adults, fascinating
Why I Chose Peoria
My first introduction to UICOMP was through Dr. Javed, but the brilliant people I met on interview day really sold me; everyone I met was wonderfully compassionate and interesting. Also coming from a place in IUSM with a large and established MedPeds program, I wanted to land in a residency in which the MedPeds residents were well integrated and respected in the community.

About Me
My wife and I love the outdoors and are frequent hikers. Since med school started, we have added two kids to our family and so have traded our hiking trails for evening walks and kids parks, but we still try to get outside as much as possible.
Why I Chose Peoria
I was impressed at the mix of rural and urban population that is found in Peoria. The hospital sees a wide diversity of patients and the faculty seemed to be genuinely interested in my career goals.

About Me

This is my first time living anywhere outside of Michigan (Go Blue!), but I enjoy global health and global travel for fun.  I hope to work in academic medicine as a MedPeds hospitalist. Also, I enjoy long walks on the beach, pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
Why I Chose Peoria

I couples-matched into this program, and it was really great that both of our programs were so accommodating with the process. We both felt like the atmosphere here was friendly and were excited about moving somewhere different. It's nice that Peoria also has easy access to 4 big cities.
