Board Exam FAQ

Do you have minimum Step 1 and Step 2 scores?
No, there is not a minimum.  However, above 220 is preferred.


Does Step 2 CK need to be completed?
It is not required for the interview offer, but it is required before turning in the rank list.

Is there an attempt limit for the step exams? 
No.

Do I have to take Step 3 prior to residency?  
It is not required to have taken step 3 prior to starting residency.

Application FAQ

What are your application deadlines? 
For the 2018 entering resident class, applicants can turn in applications via ERAS beginning September 15, 2017.

Applications will not be accepted after December 15, 2017.

When are interviews held?  
For the 2018 entering resident class, the interview period is Oct 18, 2017-
Dec 20, 2017.

How many letters of recommendations (LORs) are required?
We require 3 LORs.


Is research experience required?
No.

IMG FAQ

What is the maximum time allowed since graduating med school?
2 years.


Do we  allow International Medical Graduates (IMGs)?
​Yes.


What visa sponsorship is needed?
H1B and J1.


Is US clinical experience required?
No, but it is preferred.


Is ECFMG certificate required?
Yes.
The ECFMG certificate does not have to be in hand by time of application but is required for licensure in Illinois, which is a requirement to begin residency.
